Emergency Social Services

Langford Emergency Social Services (ESS) is a team of community volunteers who respond to provide essential services needed by people forced from their homes by emergencies or disasters. They are part of a province-wide organization sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resources and the City of Langford. These essential services include:
These volunteers donate their time and energy to receive extensive training and have proven to be an invaluable resource in many emergencies. Langford ES S members meet monthly at No. 1 Fire Hall at 7:00 p.m. on the second Monday of the month from September through June. If you would like to assist the team with planning and operating their system, please attend the next meeting or phone the ESS office at (250) 478-5510 and leave a message.
Individual and family preparedness can reduce the need for help and lessen
damage to people and property. Information to assist in becoming prepared is listed at the bottom of this page.
